Went to get something for an overseas customer's factory opening ceremony on behalf of my workplace. I entered the Selangor Pewter and a young Chinese chap from China decided to "hard-sell" one of this very delicate dragon craving costing over a thousand dollars. Though it's within the company's budget, I still would prefer to look around and sourcing for other items. I was caught in a dilemnia as to which one to choose... And this young China Chap stepped in again...
Him : You buying for chinese company?
Me : Yes. [ I wonder how he knows.. ]
Me : Which do you suggest will be more appropriate?
Him : This one!! Big Dragon. Nice.
Him : You're Chinese?
Me : Yup. [ Do i look likewise?? }
Him : Ni Guangzhou lai de ba? *Big smile* (translated as you are from guangzhou?)
Me : No no...I am Singaporean. *GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*
Why do people often mistaken me to be Mainland Chinese. OH!! Pleaseeeeeeeeeee!!! I looked into the mirror - left, right, up and down, I dun look a bit like Mainland Chinese ok!!! GRrrrrrrrrrrr!! After the purchase, went over to The Central to have Japanese food again. This time I decided to try a shop beside Waraku. This shop seems more stylish and "expensive" but unfortunately the food is less of a variety than Waraku, serving only the "Standard" Japanese dishes. A pity though..but the food is not too bad just not impressive enough to stay competitive.
The first dish served as complimentary from the restaurant was unfortunately a little "disaster". The dried baby shrimp was rather cold and HARD... not crispy at all. The rest of the dishes we ordered were not too bad... the least.

A special mention to their Unagi Chazuke which was rather tasty. I personally like chazuke (green tea with rice) and it was my first to try chazuke with unagi. Unagi chazuke is green tea poured over boiled rice and small pieces of grilled eel. The grilled eel is specially prepared. The eels are first grilled over hot charcoals, then steamed to remove excess fat, then seasoned with a sweetish sauce and grilled a second time. So it was tender in the inside and crispy outside. Yummy Yummy!! But I think the best I had tried so far is the one at Chikuyotei at Mandarian Hotel.

3 of us finished a bottle of Azure. Okie... i must emphasize how special this Baby is. Azure is a very special sake, made from a natural spring in the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Yes, that's correct, from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Not easy to do, but very pure water, the secret to this famous sake. Only a limited amount can be collected during the year. SO it's really SPECIAL. Envious!!?? Kekekeke! Anywhere, it taste slightly dry with a nice fragrance lingering on your tongue. It produced from the Kochi Prefecture.
Not too bad a dinning place. It's a place for quiet dinning and general Japanese food.
