It does felt really rather good that an overseas ex-supplier actually gave me a ring to ask me for lunch while he dropped in for a business trip recently. Well, at my new workplace, unfortunately, I do not have that leisure long lunch hour that I used to enjoy at my previous company so Moi had to tell NoNo-san that it got to quick and near my workplace. And the sweet him did oblige. ^_-) arigatou!
So we ventured to Tatsu Sushi inside Chijmes for lunch. This was Moi's second visit as I recalled after my first visit, I felt this place thought serve very fresh and nice sushi and sashimi, is really too pricey. Maybe it was with economic downturn, I was surprised to enjoy my bara chirashi sushi set at $18. Bara chirashi sushi is actually diced version of chirashi sushi and chirashi sushi is like your usual rice-don set except that instead of pork cutlet or chicken on top, you got scattered sushi on top. Not only was sushi fresh and tasty, the vinegar sauce tasted just nice.
Yummy yummy!! Thanks NoNo-san!!

Tatsu Sushi
Black Angus
Quite a secular little place so when Bread Marmas was raving to me about this place, I felt I really need to go take a look. It was a little obscure so we went down a little dat earlier to ensure we have enough time to get lost. I like the serenity, the quietness, the earth fresh smell.....

located just opposite NUS Law campus

Can't recall exactly what we had cause I didn't manage to capture any shots. But definitely must tried their Wild Wild West Onion. It was so addictive but Moi felt the portion was a little too huge so if you are not with a big group, it will be hard to have this huge onion dish by yourself.
We ordered the Rib Eye Beef, Chicken and Prime Ribs. Black Angus is supposed to be famous for their beef but the feedback I got was mediocre. I felt the chicken was a bit too dry but though the skin was roasted rather evenly. The Prime ribs bowled over SuSe who thought it tasted so much better than Tony Romas... i felt it was rather comparable.
However I felt the tranquil ambience and environment does make the food taste more pleasing and nice..well of course the company does play a good part too. Kudos to Goku and ChiChi with their new additions. ^_-)

Orange Alert
So what with server downtime and orange alert? Dun ask me cause I was informed so when my workplace changed from yellow to orange alert and we were made to take temperature daily. The workplace moi is in now is like cross junction with high influx of human traffic and international traffic so it was no wonder the cautious.
Yesterday was the first day of the ORANGE alert and my temperature was taken at the entrance by the security.
Security : AIYO!! 37 degrees!!
Moi (to self) : 37?? very high meh????
Moi : Why? Means QUARANTINE!??? can i go home now??? * grin *
Security : No lah! 37.8 degree then can go home.
Chey!! Moi will be so happy to be "quarantine" at home for a good 7 days. Hahahahha!

Rojak?
Well this place got a 8 on hungrygowhere.com but for Moi it will rank much lower in terms of quality and price. The food was not too bad but for that price, Moi will expect a better quality service and food. The chef tries too hard to be unique (Japanese and french fusion) that he is losing the idea what basis food requires. Well, let's said, they could be better.
In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) bread with cream and caviar (2) Japanese tofu with plum sauce (4) Sushi with miso soup (5) lobster soup (6) soba dish topped with grated dry mullet roe (bottarga) (7) Some kind of fish brain (8) Duck (9) fried grains (rice) (10) Pumpkin soup
The ten course meal comes up to $138+++ per pax. I think it's some kind of promotion. Moi didn't manage to take down the names of the dishes so can't recall the dishes well.
