Another alternative for good Ba Ku Teh's try... Recommended by Twinny's Hubby. Well, I could feel quite a good amount of MSG in the soup but nevertheless peppery ba ku teh is always comforting to Moi's stomach.

Chanko Nada
Brought the little Sumo to this SUMO restaurant that Twinny's hubby was raving about how "value" their lunch sets are. Mummy dearest, Moi, Twinny, her hubby and little Sumo went to Chanko Nada on a weekday afternoon to try out their lunch set.
(1) Chanko-nabe set with genmai (2) Gindara set with sashimi and oden
(3) Gindara set with tempura and oden (4) Ramen set with mini chahan
Chanko-nabe refers to vegetable meat stew traditionally served to sumo wrestlers. I would say the food is reasonable...price is really worthwhile....the sets range from $12 - $16 and no service charge and GST. ;-)

Spaggdies
A 5 ladies outing became only 3 girls and we wouldn't have chosen here if not for the other 2. Not complaining but who wants to come so far if we have nearer options. Still recall the many years ago when Moi had to come with another one to Spaggdies like nearly every other sunday and ordering the same Crayfish Parmigiana. Thanks Goodness, no more nightmare. =P

Marmalade Pantry
Someone was raving about this place so I specifically went over to try their dessert. Unfortunately, their signature cupcakes were all sold out by the time we arrived so I got to settle with their chocolate cake which I found it too sweet. Like their idea to use the spider chrysanthemum as a centre-piece. Gives it a little orient fusion to the modern setting.

SuSe brought me to his favourite childhood's wanton stall at Geylang Bahru. Well, the stall was still around but the taste....
SuSe says taste is not as good as before...
Moi says ok lah... nothing too exceptional

Kurobuta Shabu Shabu
Other than tonkatsu (Pork Cutlet), Tampopo offers quite a fair amount of other Japanese dishes like Shabu Shabu, Sukiyaki, Sushi, Ramen, etc. So decided to divert from my usual order of tonkatsu for Kurobuta Shabu Shabu. I would say the portion is rather small for its price but nevertheless yummy!!

Foong Kee Wanton Mee
It was located just beside Pinnacle. Dropped by there after a photo-shot at Pinnacle. Foong Kee Wanton Mee is Hong Kong style noodles with char Siew. Thin springy noodles distinct from local versions and Moi likes it.

Never thought plain green salad could taste so filling and so nice. A nice cosy place that I would like to drop by during a quiet afternoon and mesmerise in a book while munching the greens away. The combo set came with the soup and a wide selection. Can't recall what I ordered but I remember it was nice.

Moi just couldn't have enough of it. I went back for the 5th time in 2 months time. Hahahaha! The steamboat portion was just nice and we could have it ala-cart instead of stuffing ourselves with buffet. Quality of ingredients are good and fresh not like the usual steamboat place where the fish and meat might not necessary be very fresh. ON top, it has a great variety of soup base to try. I would highly recommend the porridge soup and the Jumbo superior soup stock (no msg) and so yummy yummy. Moi doesn't get the dry-ness in throat after drinking bowls and bowls of soup.
(2) Marinated Chicken: It comes with a tiny quail egg that you need to break it and marinate the chicken with it.
(4) Bean curd skin: Unique tasting. Moi must order minimum 2 every visit. Whisk the beancurd skin into the soup once and take it out immediately. This will retain it crispy-ness and yet allow the soup taste to soak into the skin. Really divine. LOVE IT.
(5) Seafood platter: $30 plus but comes with 6 pcs of big prawns, scallops, fish, clam slices, etc. Very good value for money. And extremely fish.
(8) Fried fish skin: Another "killer" like the bean curd skin. So crispy that it just breaks with every bite.
(9) Dim sum combo: A little disappointing. Size is too miniature. You wonder if the dim sum is for barbie.
(10) Dessert: mango ice: This is like the taiwanese shaved ice dessert. The white fluffy things are all shaved ice. COLD and just melt in your mouth. YUMMY!!
(11) Fish glue : Kids will love this. It felt like cake icing.
(12) Sauce : The sauce is really unique. And they got 3 variations - spicy, garlic chili normal. And it's refillable.

Hatched
Hatched serves whole-day-brunch from morning to dinner. Love the ambience there. Encountered quite a bad bottle-neck when they have a lot of orders but I like the commitment of the whole team behind Hatched, from family members, to hired staff. They were all very committed to provide the best possible services and food and so even though they were not able to meet some of the expectations, I was touched by their sincerity and commitment.
Moi loves egg so anything in egg will be great.

Ozzy Baked Egg $8 - Eggs baked with bacon, mushroom and tomatoes with a thick layer of cheese
There were a few non-egg items like the BAR-B-Q drumlets and pancake. Well, I found the drumlets too sweet for my liking but I know little aka enjoyed her beary pancake tremendously.

Thanying Restaurant
In celebration of moi's new job, Moi bought mom and twinny here to celebrate. It reminds us of our childhood days where daddy bought us here once every year whenever it's bonus time. The atmosphere remains the same, the staff still wore the traditional Thai costume and the food still as superbly yummy! Except for the traditional thai platter which we didn't fancy too much, the rest was just fingers licking.
