Foong Kee Wanton Mee

It was located just beside Pinnacle. Dropped by there after a photo-shot at Pinnacle. Foong Kee Wanton Mee is Hong Kong style noodles with char Siew. Thin springy noodles distinct from local versions and Moi likes it.

Mescluns

Never thought plain green salad could taste so filling and so nice. A nice cosy place that I would like to drop by during a quiet afternoon and mesmerise in a book while munching the greens away. The combo set came with the soup and a wide selection. Can't recall what I ordered but I remember it was nice.

Lunch @ Wu Clan

Well, another lunch @ Wu clan but this time is a different "Wu Clan". ^_-) This is really out-dated but since the other Miss Wu is getting married soon and the other one in the pipeline, i better post it before I need to edit the title from Wu to something else. Kekeke!

Anywhere the joy is always the company and home-cooked food from mummy's loving hands and sweat always taste best. Seeing doting Bubbles' mom sayang-ing Bubbles from hand-knitted tops to delicious meal...NOTHING beats Mother's love.

Cafe Epicurous

Another EGG place like Hatched. Nice ambience facing the old railway tracks (no longer in use) along upper bukit timah road. Some kids were having some treasure-hunt game inside the restaurant when we were there so they sat us in another side of the cafe which I realise Cafe Epicurous could be quite BIG. Read about them in i-weekly and have wanted to give it a try. It was nice to see them serving modern food on traditional local utensils like coffee in the traditional kopi cup and the eggs on Rooster plate. If you know what I meant.

Sir Benedict - what's new??

Baked egg - again?

JPot

Moi just couldn't have enough of it. I went back for the 5th time in 2 months time. Hahahaha! The steamboat portion was just nice and we could have it ala-cart instead of stuffing ourselves with buffet. Quality of ingredients are good and fresh not like the usual steamboat place where the fish and meat might not necessary be very fresh. ON top, it has a great variety of soup base to try. I would highly recommend the porridge soup and the Jumbo superior soup stock (no msg) and so yummy yummy. Moi doesn't get the dry-ness in throat after drinking bowls and bowls of soup.

(2) Marinated Chicken: It comes with a tiny quail egg that you need to break it and marinate the chicken with it.
(4) Bean curd skin: Unique tasting. Moi must order minimum 2 every visit. Whisk the beancurd skin into the soup once and take it out immediately. This will retain it crispy-ness and yet allow the soup taste to soak into the skin. Really divine. LOVE IT.
(5) Seafood platter: $30 plus but comes with 6 pcs of big prawns, scallops, fish, clam slices, etc. Very good value for money. And extremely fish.
(8) Fried fish skin: Another "killer" like the bean curd skin. So crispy that it just breaks with every bite.
(9) Dim sum combo: A little disappointing. Size is too miniature. You wonder if the dim sum is for barbie.
(10) Dessert: mango ice: This is like the taiwanese shaved ice dessert. The white fluffy things are all shaved ice. COLD and just melt in your mouth. YUMMY!!
(11) Fish glue : Kids will love this. It felt like cake icing.
(12) Sauce : The sauce is really unique. And they got 3 variations - spicy, garlic chili normal. And it's refillable.

Sushi Tei

My previous visit was for work and this time was for pleasure. I felt the service standard dipped a little but sushi was still fresh and nice. Nowadays hardly have the opportunity to have sushi, sashimi and natto for meal so it felt really great to enjoy this meal.

Oyako in Japanese, means Parent (Oya) and Child (Ko) so Salmon Oyako-don is a combination of salmon fish (parent) plus egg (child). Interesting? Yuzu is a little sour, and sweet with a very refreshing and tangerine taste.

In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) Hamachi shioyaki (broiled yellowtail cheek) (2) natto maguro (fermented soya beans with tuna (3) Salmon oyako-don (4) yuzu (pomelo) with biscuit

Hatched

Hatched serves whole-day-brunch from morning to dinner. Love the ambience there. Encountered quite a bad bottle-neck when they have a lot of orders but I like the commitment of the whole team behind Hatched, from family members, to hired staff. They were all very committed to provide the best possible services and food and so even though they were not able to meet some of the expectations, I was touched by their sincerity and commitment.

Moi loves egg so anything in egg will be great.

Left to Right : (1) Where's Waffle $12 - Waffle served with butter, fresh cream and maple syrup, topped with ham and egg (2) Sir Benedict $16 - Poached egg with Hollandaise sauce together english muffin, black forest ham and homemade mash
