Belezet

Simply bliss to be able to enjoy german beer, König Ludwig Weiss with Swiss butchery sausages at this very nice cosy European cafe style little restaurant hid away along Neil Road. I really enjoy the whole experience at Wiener Kaffeehaus. It was truly fantastic in food, ambience and atmosphere. I would say the service was only so-so cause only 2 ladies taking care of all the patrons. But the food was really nice and simple tasting.

Nothing too extraordinary about the salad below, save the potato is really very well marinated and nice tasting. Portion is a little small though.

Wiener salat

Also tried the typical pickled cabbage, Saukeraut which was eaten in place of rice in Germany and Austria. The taste was very simple and refreshing. I had expected it to taste really sour or sweet since it's pickled cabbage.

Saukeraut

A good sizeable portion of Swiss Butchery Sausages. Yummy!! I really love this. Quite a big portion if you are a small eater. Suggest that you share with another.

wurstplatte

Next, their speciality dish, Wiener Schnitzel. Schnitzel is prepared from a thinly-sliced piece of pork, crumbed and sauted to a golden color. It is served with buttered parsley potato and a small mixed salad. Surprisedly the pork was not at all oily and fattening. Though Moi found the taste a little too blend underneath the crispy skin.

Wiener Schnitzel

Was already quite full with the 2 dishes but my dinner kakis decided to order another "beef" stew with the request to change the "beef" to "pork". The pork meat is rather soft but taste is somewhat too simple.

fiaker gulasch

For dessert, we tried their ice-cream which is honey flavoured and their famous Apple Strudel. The ice-cream is really smooth and nice tasting. It seems so amazing to have honey flavoured ice cream. But this is really yummy. Moi ordered the traditional Austrian pastry, Apple Strudel to be served hot. The crust is really thin and the sweetness of the strudel is well balanced off by the scoop of vanila ice cream. Another MUST try dish.

Speiseeis (honey)

Wiener Apfel Strude

But the main and most famous food here is non-other than its coffee which are roasted first before brewed fresh. The coffee is really aromatic and nice-tasting. Coffee-lovers will love this place. ^_-) We had a Fiaker which is espresso coffee with rum, topped with whipped cream and a cappuccino.

Melando (cappuccino)

What a good way to celebrate Oktoberfest!!
