Since Cockles returned from Down Under early this year, we haven't met till now... a good 9 mths, though we did exchange emails and texts. Cockles was so tied up with work, working practically 16 hours per day, 7 days per week for the past 9 mths, drove her nuts and finally she called it QUITS. CHEERS to the Cockles!! Hurrary. But a little sad that Cockles will be moving back to Down Under again for her next job. Gosh!! I am going to so miss that woman. =( We were again be seperated by oceans and seas. =( Sigh...
And lots of catching up.. with Pooh and Tigger too... Both gals also tendered recently and everyone moving to their respective new jobs next year except for Tigger who just moved. We were talking if it's a mid-life crisis thingy that we are going through now cause everyone seem to be still searching for what the job that they want...hopping around and testing waters before cobweb start forming on us and we lose our mobility so per say. Fingers starting pointing at Moi... with cobwebs all over my head being still in my first job and hopefully not my last till now... In fact, coming next year will be my 10th year anniversary in the office.. hmm...maybe a good chance to move to greener pastures.. *rubbing my chin*
Honestly, I had spoken to my boss countless times about my desire to leave the company...to quit. And every time my resignation was retracted back. Call me sentimental or plain stupid but I had fostered such a close relationship with my boss that it's no longer just a job...it's family, it's kinship, it's feelings... so i just can't move on and leave for another job. I do enjoy what I am doing but 10 years in the same job and I felt really stagnant. I could close my eyes and just do my job... the new challenges are just old challenges repack in a different form. It does not give me the "kick" and drive to go that extra mile...cause it's just another day job. FULL STOP. Lately, i have been thinking very deeply and seriously about moving away.. Hopefully I can finally leave in a year or 2.
The conversation was of course enhanced because of our good gathering dinner place @ Aerins. This is Moi's first visit but it was quite cosy and nice... serving a wide selection of food plus both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It's a good place to just sit through practically for breakfast, lunchies, dinner, dessert, happy hour and supper. hohoho. Another plus side is pricing is rather reasonable... Definitely a causal chic affordable dinning place.
We tried their starter....their prawn poppers - lightly battered prawns with homemade tartare sauce
For the mains, we had Spaghetti Prawns ($18.00) - Spaghetti pasta lightly tossed in tomato garlic-olive oil served with sauteed bay prawns, baby spinach and semi-dried tomatoes; Aerins Tagliatelle ($21.00) - tagliatelle with mushroom ragout in light cream sauce, smoked salmon and roe; and Aerins' salad ($9.00) - mixed garden salad with sliced apples and pinenuts in Japanese wafu dressing. It's not too bad though nothing too extraordinary. But I do like their double chocolate fudge cake which is really very chocolate; and passionfruit-mango mousse cake, costing $5.50 each. Nice company, nice food...a wonderful evening. ^_______________^) *wide grin*
