Had earlier planned to have dinner with ABC family at East Coast but it was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. A little disappointed since I was looking forward to it but it was understandable. So ABC, you still owe me one!! Moi, be waiting. ^_-)
Actually Moi has been feeling unwell since Chinese New Year and so my left ear was practically blocked and I got to turn my head to the right whenever I need to speak to someone. It was really damn blocked. *Sulk*
Anywhere so when someone called me, I decided to go meet him for dinner since I still own him ONE. To be honest, I dun quite like VivoCity as it's quite a maze for moi. I always feel really directionless in finding my way in there. Anywhere were walking around and didn't know what to eat still i came across a sign board showing "PORK KNUCKLE" outside a German Restaurant located on the first floor. *Slurp* =P' Ooooooo...missed my pork knuckle!!! The restaurant was nearly full even before 7pm so we decided to give it a try. All the tables were taken so we were allocated to sit at the counter. It was not really comfortable as the chairs were too high and the table was too big. Anywhere the restaurant ambience was lovely with a nice seaview.
I could sense my dinner-mate's discomfort as he was fidgeting in his seat. So when a guest foot his bill, my dinner-mate quickly signalled to the manager our intention to swap seats. But the coordination was a little poor as the guest's wife decided to go to the ladies and so we couldn't swap till later. And our dishes came and a little confusion erupted....
Dinner-mate : Can u serve later?
Waiter : Ah?
Dinner-mate : Because we are waiting for our seats.
Waiter : ?? Seats ? *this waiter most probably didn't know what he was trying to say*
Me : It's ours. Just put the dishes down. *with a ear blocked I couldn't really decipher what's going on*
Dinner-mate : No, no. Our seats aren't ready. Please hold on a minute.
Me : Ha?? What?? These are our orders. Please put them down. *in loud voice due to ear block*
Waiter : *confused*
Dinner-mate : *confused*
Well, you can't blame me, my ear was blocked!!! SORRY!! kekekeke! A little embarrassed when I found out the full picture much later. The pork knuckle was, unfortunately, a disppointment. It was uncomparable to the one I had at Magma but the sausage Platter was not too bad.
As it was still early, we proceeded to coffee for more chat. I decided to try Corduroy Cafe which was highly recommended by a friend.
It was my treat so I was asking....
Me : What order?
Dinner-mate : Ha?? *bewildered*
Me : What order? *Louder*
Dinner-mate : Want Hotel? *Eyes opening big*
Me : you. *ears blocked, cant hear well*
Dinner-mate : Me?? What are you saying? *look embarrassed*
Me : What's your order? O-R-D-E-R!! *Irritated*
Hahahahaha! Sorry pal, my ear was blocked so i couldnt hear you very well and couldn't articulate very clearly. I didn't catch the joke till later. It's so embarrassing. I had a cafe au lait while he had a cafe latte. I heard the dessert was good but then it took 20 minutes or more to prepare so decided to give it a miss this time.
