Shunjuu is another sumiyaki (charcoal-grill) Japanese restaurant like Yoyogi, Torisho taka and Nameless.... AND I be going to yet another one soon!! Kekeke!
Well, if you ask me to rank the 4 sumiyaki restaurant. Moi's preferences will be
1. Nameless
2. Yoyogi
3. Torisho Taka
4. Shunjun
Not that Shunjun tastes worse. Shunjun serves nice Sumiyaki too and pricing is much affordable and "soft" for one's pocket as compare to the other 3. =P Still remember I treating a particular HIM to this restaurant donkeys years ago. Ho-ho-ho-ho!! I wonder if HE enjoyed himself at that time... SHOULD BE lah! Kekekeke!

In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) Cabbage with Miso paste (2) Appetizer 1 : beans with chicken (3) Appetizer 2 : tofu with century egg paste (4) asparagus wrapped with bacon (5) ginko nuts wrapped with bacon (6) mentaiko with cucumber (7) chicken with leek (8) Shisamo (9) cucumber with miso beans (10) Lady fingers + Shiitake
My favourite of the above will be item (3) tofu with century egg paste. The paste was really smooth and curbed with the smooth tofu texture, it's really just slide down your throat. Metaiko was well-grilled too. Moi didn't really like Shisamo but since the host had ordered, it won't be nice to say No. Though it tastes okay but Moi just didn't really like the idea of tearing open the shisamo's stomach and exposing all the little eggs. Their Fugu Mirin Boshi was a disappointment though... it felt damp and not grilled enough.
A special mention will be their yaki onigiri, instead of little rice balls that most restaurants usually serve, they serve it like below. Making it very easy to eat without getting rice sticking all over your hands.
