Piao Ji

Twinny has been raving about this fish soup porridge on the second floor of Amoy Street Food Centre so Moi as the foodie guru must go and try and blog about it, right? * wink *

Well had thought that it won't be crowded on a saturday afternoon but I was damn wrong. The queue was around 10 plus people already when we reach and the queue movement was like snail-crawling. And I thought fish slices, you just poached with hot water will do. The wait unfortunately was a good half an hour.

Maybe because of the wait, my anticipation and expectation for this famous fish soup stall went up. The soup was FULL of MSG though nice. I would say the fish and ingredients were very very fresh and cooked just nice. Not over-cooked or too raw. The sauce was rather unique with ginger, beans looking like dou ban jiang and self-made chili. So it tasted a little spicy, a little sweet, a little sour, a little of everything.

Pomfret Fish soup $7

This is slightly more expensive because the fish is premium type not the usual type.

Seafood soup $5

Their special sauce
