想的东西

I did it the year before.

Back by "popular" demand, I spent today as a tour guide again. Kekeke!

AND it rained again today!!! Fortunately not as heavy as previously. Phew!!

Brought a different group of 14 Japanese to same places..plus some new sight-seeing places with the sultan mosque, the famous hokkien temple at telok ayer street and the Sri Mariamman Temple at South Bridge road. Well, of course, different group will give different reactions. While, the previous group was a more joyous and noisy pack, the group this time was more of quieter and more comforming team... everyone likes to do the same thing.

In fact, the ladies in the group went "crazy" over Anti-UV umbrellas that every single one in the group snapped up nearly all the Anti-UV umbrellas on display at Isetan Scots. Wahahahaha!

I, of course, got mistaken so mmany times as a tour guide... and I got to keep explaining that I aint one. Even the sales manager at Royal Selangor passed me her name card to contact her for future tours. =P Heehee!

But the fun part esssh the part when one of the group member who knew a little Mandarin tried to communicate with me that he wanted to get a monumentum to represent his first trip here, for his wife.

Him : 我要买这个新加坡的想东西给我的太太。

Me : Eh!!?? 响东西?? (Things that make sounds?)

Him : 想的东西。

Me : 会响的东西??

Him : 我要买这个。

Me : 头脑里想?? 记忆?? 思い出??

Him : そう。。。そう。。。そうです。シンガポールの思い出。

Me : 思い出は记忆の事です。

Him : 新加坡记忆的东西。

Me : Sorry. It's wrong. You can't use “记忆的东西”. It should be “新加坡记念品”.

Him : 是!是!是!记念品。

The 2 sales men serving us were laughing non-stop by now. Hahahahha! A simple conversation in 3 languages. But finally message got across. =P

It was a tiring task but nevertheless, the group was sweet and Moi did enjoy.
