A Day as a Tour Guide and Mr Brolly Again

I am used to bringing overseas friends and guests around Singapore but TODAY is the first time I am bring 26 people for a ONE-day Singapore Tour. I really felt like a tour guide.... I was exhausted and extremely tired.

Brought a whole bunch of Uncles and Aunties of more than 70s to the esplanade, Sentosa, Raffles hotel, lunch and dinner too. Took some snapshots during my guiding. First, we went for Bak Kut Teh or in chinese Rou Gu Cha. This is by far, my favourite Bak Kut Teh stall at this moment. I like the light peppery taste of the soup. I usually would have 4-5 bowls of the soup, minimum.

Then we went up to Mount Faber and took the cable car to Sentosa. Sentosa had changed quite a bit since I last visited. We were rather short of time so had only visited the Museum - Images of Singapore only.

We have the exact same grinder at home and till now, mummy dearest is using our stone grinder for her cooking. Super.

The most enjoyable part for me was taking the Sentosa Express back to main island. We were indeed lucky since the Sentosa Express had just only opened a few days ago on the 15th January. It sure was fast and before we knew it, we were at VivoCity. Did a little shopping before we proceeded to the National Orchid Garden. I was feeling rather excited to see my orchids again. UNFORTUNATELY, a heavy downpour came pouring just 15 minutes after the walk and left all of us strangled miserably for more than an hour at the park. No one had an umbrella, saved me with my teeny weeny zhi si umbrella, I was running to and fro the whole park trying to gather the widely dispersed uncles and aunties, trying to take shelter from the rain. I was totally drenched but fortunately I met another Mr Brolly. Heehee! I am really sooooo lucky har? ;-P I saw him in the little buggie car and was running towards him like a Siao char poh trying to get help... He was just like a knight in shinning armour, returning with another 12 umbrellas and going with me to each shelter to look for my missing "lambs". A big Thank you to yet another Mr Brolly. *Heartmelt* This time I remember to ask for his name...=P I will remember him. Hope to see you around during my nature guide walk next time.

While waiting for the rain, couldn't resist to take some more shots. It's sure a good opportunity to take raining pictures......

The stubborn rain was still pouring so we headed for some drinks to warm our bodies. heehee! Went down to Long Bar inside Raffles Hotel. Was so touched by the Aunties who went to buy a Jim Thompson tee for me. They were so worried that I would get sick from the rain and insisted that I changed into the new tee. *Heartmelt again*

I was told of a mystery story behind the founder of the Jim Thompson brand, Mr Jim Thompson, himself. During the Easter weekend in 1967, Jim Thompson disappeared while on holiday with friends in Cameron Highlands, a northern Malaysian resort. An extensive and extended search failed to reveal any clues about his disappearance. Till date, no signs were ever found of him.... imagine how rich he will get for all the royalties from his brand.

It's the pub culture to throw the peanut shells on the floor so dun bother to pick them up...the shells are supposed to be on the floor. To preserve the tropical feeling, automatic fans were used to create the tropical breeze inside air-conditioned pub. Kekekeke!

Finally we proceeded to clarke quay for dinner at Imperial herbal restaurant. This is again one of my favourite restaurants. I love their signature dish "Egg White with Scallop, Polygonatum and Ladybell Root".

Even had chicken Cordyceps Storma soup. The soup was quite nice though I prefer the "Buddha jump over the wall". The food and service was really nice. *Thumbs up* The Manager even planned for a mini birthday surprise for one of the uncles. It was really fun and nice.
