Got cheoh by Supermodel for Lunchie today. It's quite a contrast between the two of us whenever we go out together seems she is always so nicely and fully doll up - full make-up, dress, matching earrings, nails polish, shoes, bags etc. VS the chapalang heck-care Moi. =P
We went for late lunch so it was quite a queue when I arrived first... managed to get 2 seats pretty soon and so I called Supermodel (who is on the way) to ask what she wants....
Me : what you want?
Supermodel : what they have? got seafood ones?
Me : Dun have leh!! But got Tonkotsu, ...
Supermodel interrupted me....
Supermodel : Har?? What Tonkotsu??
Me : T-o-n-k...
Supermodel : No No... I dunno the Japanese name... what is that?
Me (to self) : Tonkotsu is tonkotsu lor. How to explain to her....
Me : Kyushu style ramen.
Supermodel : har!!
Me (to self) : Okie, she dun get it....
Supermodel : What's inside?
Me : Chashu... all the flavours are chashu.
Supermodel : har!! No seafood!!? K.. then get me the spicy one.
AND so I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and Supermodel ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu ramen.

Well, this is not Moi's first lunch here... SEE!! I dun blog every single place I makan at hor. But anywhere, the ramen is considerably a little nicer than the general ramen we get in Singapore... but it's nevertheless nothing compared to the authentic ones I had in Japan and not even those I mentioned. But anywhere...it's really not too bad. I am just very very fussy about Ramen. =P
Men-Tei is actually very proud of their ramen, declaring that their noodles were made fresh everyday and their tonkotsu soup is cooked over high heat for more than 9 hours every day. Of course, plus points to them for serving the really traditional and juicy chashu and famous tamago.
