Moonbird

Yet another extremely late posting. Watched the Joyce Dunbar's Moonbird with Blossoms sometime in May. A very lovely play with simple and basic setup containing a mixture of voice, sign language and puppetry. The story is simple about the little Prince, Orla who lost his ability to hear earth sounds after a bubble blew by the Moonchild burst beside him. He acquired the ability to listen to sounds from the moon instead. His parents' (the King and the Queen) reluctance at first to accept for who Orla was and how they finally came in terms with it and communicate with Orla using sign and gestures.

A very heart-warming tale about parents' support for special kids. I was very overwhelmed after watching the show. A really lovely tale.
