THIS is one of my favourite lunchie hunt - d-Coffeeshop. From the name, you should be able to tell, it's a modern, classier kind of Kopitiam. My favourite is the Hainanese pork chop... I have this everytime I went there for lunchie. Couldn't resist. I also like their chicken curry and chicken rice. Their spaghetti and other stuffs are also not too bad. AND majority of the meals range from below $10 to $20. So it's very nice place to grab a good lunch and share a short chat. But be warned that it's extremely crowded during lunch time. So do come before 12pm.
Since it's a modern Kopitiam, so of course it focuses on serving the local breakies like kaya toast, kopi, teh-si, kind of drinks too. A little pricey but all below $2.00. My cafe latte, being an "imported" item, is a little bit pricey at S$2.50. BUT then it's still waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than those at Starbucks and TCC. I like the way they serve the coffee in a modern-looking cup but with the saucer and little teaspoon. Please see picture below. Nogalstic.
