Sinners

The Sinners gathered to sin... to indulge in their desires and cravings.....Meet the pretty sinners... *wink*

The first station is to Waraku for affordable and nice Japanese Food. The restaurant was constantly so crowded and the queue was horrendous. Without reservation, moi will never want to wait so long for the food.

In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) Ramune (Lemonade) (2) Ramen (3) Unagi Chahan (Eel Fried Rice) (4) Cheese with Mentai (fish roe) (5) Yasai Tempura (Fried vegetable) (6) Chige (spicy tofu stew) Udon (7) Chige ramen (8) negi toro ton (rice with minced tuna and onion)

Just a little explanation on the first item Ramune, this little thing did bring back good memories of the day when I studied in Japan and had this quite often together with my favourite, C.C. Lemon. =P If you care to notice, the bottle is rather queer looking with a codd-neck design and a glass marble at the neck. People trying Ramune for the first time sometimes find it difficult to drink, as it takes practice to learn to stop the marble from blocking the flow. But then I believe that's the fun part of enjoying Ramune. The negi toro ton was ordered by Moi... to reminisce the days I first had this, near Shibuya station with a good friend and talking about cartoons, animations and women. Hahahahaha! Miss Kappa-chan who had become daddy last year and still like to watch Teletubbies. Kekeke! Congratulation, dear friend.

Then it was to the Chocolate Factory along the Pier for more sinning. Dark sensation sins!! Moi had miss it the last time so was I damned glad to be able to go this round. And guess what!! We even saw Julian Hee, a Mediacorp actor. He does look dashing in person. So the sinners not only got their lips enticed but also their eyes... uuuummmmmmmmm.... kekekeke.

In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) The Chocolate Factory (2) Our drinks (3) Flour-less Cake (4) Our tea (5) Chocolate Souffle (6) This bitter chocolate cake starting with Cha...something

The chocolate souffle is really nice... but it takes about 20-30 minutes of waiting time, and just 5 minutes to be in our stomaches. Heehee! The outer crust was crispy and soft and the inside was pipping hot liquid chocolate. Hmm...simply sensational. The flour-less cake was also great not too sweet but item (6) was a too sweet for Moi. The waitress even told me that it was made from bitter chocolate and I wont really feel the sweetness. Wrong choice. No free water will be served so it's a must to order a drink to wash down the rich chocolate.

Well we are still hyper, still bubbling, still hunger for more sins so we proceed to...

For...

3 cups of water?

No lah...

Dream Float + Mango Freeze

Then entered the Allurer in her slinky movements... wow... titillating...

The Allurer

A night of beautiful sins... Love de chums. Thanks for the company, the talk, the encouragement, the love... Hugz!!!!!!! Let's sin more!! kekekeke! Er... oopss..think i need to run a good 100km this week to burn all the extra calories.

Golden Shoe Market

Well, it might be a little bit hard to comprehend why we can still find so cheap and nice food in the midst of the "high-class" Shenton way.... but here's two and many more others... ^_-)

$2.50 Nasi Lemak

This nasi lemak stall has been around for ages... more than 10 years I supposed. I remember this is one of the very few stall that still opens late in the evening within the golden shoe market. After so many years of patronising them, i am surprised that they can still maintain their price though at the costs of their ingredients shrinking in size.. ^^;;) But the taste is still just as nice and I still enjoy my green color rice. Another one of my frequent patronising stall is the Taste hard to forget Hokkien Lor Mee Stall one floor up. A $2.00 bowl of Lor Mee is filled with all sorts of ingredients which till date, I am not too sure if I am eating chicken or pork. But anywhere it's tasty but quite a lot of MSG so you be goggling down water pretty soon after eating. =P But i love the crispy stuff inside the bowl of lor mee and their soup which is not too thick and not too watery... JUST nice. UUUUUUUUUUmmmmmmm......Yummy!! Most importantly, one is being served by a friendly couple who never fails to cook and serve each bowl of lor mee with that great big signature smile and tinkle in their eyes.

Before the Music stops

Title : Chicken Soup for The Singapore Soul: Stories to Inspire and Uplift the Hearts of Singaporeans
Author : Jack Canfield; Mark Victor Hansen; Leong Chin
Yr of Published : 2007

YUP!! Finally a singaporean's own chicken soup version. The stories are closer to hearts; we can relate to the values and backgrounds easier. "BEFORE THE MUSIC STOPS" tugs my heart... cos I know that her, the author... How does it feels living everyday not knowing when you will wake up and you can't see any more, hear any more... This book is available at all major bookstores and NTUCs. Go GRAB IT!!

We always see the goodness the beauty of things and become jealous and envious too quickly; but we never see the struggle, the pain, the sweat, the tears, the fear behind... humans are judgemental... humans are stereotyping..we just like to assume and jump into conclusions. That's human nature. Sigh....so how???

Open up your heart and mind...

listen carefully...

think before you jump the gun...

Ask before you jump the gun...

Society will be more compassionate and caring. It's ironical that our Govt is re-talking about working towards a more gracious, considerate and courteous society. It's just show how ungracious, inconsiderate, incourteous, selfish and ugly we, the inhabitants of this teeny weeny island are. Our SPACE, already soooooooooooo small liao and people still want to tsk tsk tsk, push push push, my way my way.... REALLY NO EYES SEE. =(-_- )=( -_-)=

The only way to teach compassion is to give it out, for the only way to understand it is to receive it. So yes, it can and should be taught, for it is a necessity in such a selfish world. So Parents do re-enforce this in your kids by at least doing the very basic like asking them not to scream and make a dim in public places; take off their shoes when they want to stand on public seats in the MRT. I think compassionate is "genetic", ugly parents do "produce" ugly kids. So if you dun set a good example, your kids cannot automatically be kind, gracious, considerate and nice hor.

Of course it's not that easy to be truly compassionate and considerate and to teach that to your kids. It does require a considerable courage and patient. But more often, we tend to use anger to solve problem in the fastest and most "effective" way. But one must remember that, Yes!! Anger can indeed solve problems, but there is always a cost to it. We build resentment in the people we show our anger towards. And so it's a vicious cycle.

Gracious start from YOU!!! Be Kind!! If you want others to be!!

Note
Just to explain about the emoticons I am using, in case someone think likewise...

(1) =(-_- )=( -_-)= ... it means no eyes see and shaking head.

AND to that cutie cutie,

(2) {{ (>_<) }} ... Don't mean radiating anger or emitting psychic power... it just means shivering with cold.

Bliss

I am so bliss because I had this....

Mummy's Maggie Noodle

Well, it might be quite puzzling what's so bliss about eating Instant Noodles... Moi's family hardly had the chance to eat instant stuffs since mummy dearest sticks firmly to her doctrine to feed us with good nutritious home-cook food since young. I am really very much bliss and fortunate to have an able and loving mom who could whip up so many delicious meals to pamper us constantly (great inheritance from my gong gong chef). So even Mummy's instant noodle is well-cooked with many extra ingredients and minimium flavouring. Kekekeke! Muackz!!!! Oishii!!!!!!! o(^o^)o

Eat Fresh

Today's Lunch : BLT sandwich
- Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato -

Subway is a multinational restaurant franchise that mainly sells sandwiches and salads that are both healthy and yummy. I read from wikipedia that in 1999, an Indiana University student named Jared Fogle lost 110 kg with a diet made up mostly of Subway sandwiches combined with exercise. So for those weight conscious ladies and gentleman... grab a SUBWAY. *wink*

These Foolish Things (Remind Me Of You) by Nat King Cole

Another song to share... A night of nice music playing over the radio.... sweet, melancholy, jazzy, whatever.... Music is the food for the soul...

A cigarette that bears a lipstick's traces,
An airline ticket to romantic places,
And still my heart has wings...
These foolish things remind me of you.

A tinkling piano in the next apartment,
Those stumbling words that told you what my heart meant,
A fairground's painted swings...
These foolish things remind me of you.

You came, you saw,
You conquered me.
When you did that to me,
I knew somehow this had to be.

The winds of March that made my heart a dancer,
A telephone that rings,
And who's to answer?
Oh, how the ghost of you clings...
These foolish things remind me of you.

The first daffodil and long excited cables,
And candle lights on little corner tables,
And still my heart has wings...
These foolish things remind me of you.

The park at evening when the bell has sounded,
The 'Ile-de-France' with all the gulls around it,
The beauty that is spring's...
These foolish things remind me of you.

How strange, how sweet
To find you still,
These things are dear to me,
They seem to bring you near to me.

The sigh of midnight trains in empty stations,
Silk stockings tossed aside, dance invitations.
Oh, how the ghost of you clings!
These foolish things remind me of you...

These foolish things remind me of you.

Insensitive by Jann Arden

How do you cool your lips after a summer's kiss?
How do you rid the sweat after the body bliss?
How do you turn your eyes from the romantic glare?
How do you block the sound of a voice you'd know anywhere?

Oh I really should have known by the time you drove me home,
By the vagueness in your eyes, your casual good-byes.
By the chill in your embrace and the expression on your face,
That told me you might have some advice to give ...
On how to be...
Insensitive.

How do you numb your skin after the warmest touch?
How do you slow your blood after the body rush?
How do you free your soul after you've found a friend?
How do you teach your heart it's a crime to fall in love again?

Oh you probably won't remember me, it's probably ancient history,
I'm one of the chosen few who went ahead and fell for you.
I'm out of vogue, I'm out of touch, I fell too fast, I feel too much.
I thought that you might have some advice to give ...
On how to be ...
Insensitive.

Ya Hua Rou Gu Cha

I am back here for Bak Kut Teh and this time i got more time on hand and could afford to take more snap shoots... =)

In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) Bak Kut teh (2) Fried Fritters, Tau Kwa, Tau Pok, Seaweed soup (3)Slice fish soup (4) Watercress Soup

Other than the Pork Ribs Soup, Ya Hua Rou Gu Cha actually serves a variety of other small dishes that taste just as nice especially the fish soup. The slice fish is really very fresh and sweet, with no fishy smell or taste. I love having the fish soup everytime I visit. Though all the soup used is same as the pork ribs soup, the lady chef is still able to bring out a different taste with each type of dishes. Yummy!!

Tung Lok

Well, today had a mini-feast at Tung Lok at Daimaru which is closing this coming sunday after operating for more than 15 years at Liang court Shopping centre. They will be moving to the Central. Yes!!! All the eateries seem to be conjugating there. Today we had the set menu and it consists of....

In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) Grilled Lobster (2) Shark fins soup (3) Mushroom with Bamboo shoots (4) Dessert : Mango Pomelo Sago (5) Scallop with Bee Hoon Soup (6) Abalone with Duck feet

I personally feel that Tung Lok does provide a certain standard of chinese restaurant food that is appetising and reasonable with a traditional touch. The restaurant is highly commercialise and innovative to creat new cuisine and opening theme restaurants that cater to the different masses of consumers.

Incompatibility

I got Swalker for free... but she was totally incompatible with White. GRRRRRRRRRR!!

Guess I got to live with listening to radio on Swalker and Music with Shuffle.

It's damn irritating.

>_<

The Central : Pasta de Waraku

Welcome to Paste de Waraku!! Howdy!! The rows and rows of spaghetti, pizza, ice-cream, doria etc. sure make Pasta de Waraku seems super appetizing. Moi and twinny and her dearie waited for about half an hour plus before we could get seats... and it was around 8:30pm. So our dinner was already 9 plus... were really hungry by then....so what did we had?

carbonara Waraku Style
- pork bacon & yolk with wafu creamy sauce -

Ebi to hotate no tartar sauce aji
- Prawn and Scallop pancake -

Can you spot the difference between the "real" food and the "fake" one? =P The first item, Carbonara Waraku Style is the recommended dish but maybe both Moi and twinny's anticipation for Pasta de Waraku was too high, the food was surprisingly just so-so for our preferences. The spaghetti was not too bad, quite well-cooked but the sauce tasted rather bland. I added up pouring bonito sauce to enhance the taste for this dish and the doria. The other spaghetti with wafu sauce which looked bland but contrary had a better taste that the Carbonara. Doria tasted very bland too...=(

Chicken and mushroom spaghetti with Wafu sauce

Pork bacon and asparagus Doria

Overall, the food wasn't that bad but it wasn't a place that I would wait for a good half an hour squeeze into the little restaurant for spaghetti again... Well for the dessert, we had..

Ume Shochu with Soda

YES!! I am such an alcoholic gal... =P The other 2 desserts tasted rather very much similar. Maybe because the restaurant was very crowded today so the ice-cream for the 2 desserts were already melted upon serving and so the taste for both were less pleasant...

Dessert : choco-banana ice cream crepe

Dessert : Tiramisu parfait

Well, in case you are wondering...yes! Paste de Waraku is related to Waraku... I do feel that the Japanese food at Waraku was not too bad but the Japanese style pasta at Pasta de Waraku is below expectations. But like I always say, food tasting can be subjective so do give it a try but beware of the wait... they dun take reservations after 7pm.

You are nice but I just want to be friend....

Was discussing with a friend about how always a girl did something and a guy gets mistaken or how always a guy did something and the girl gets mistaken. Are we so different? A girl accepts a car lift or went for a single date and you had a nice conversation with her and it's just a friend thing.... Guy asking himself "I thought we had a good time, what's wrong?" Many a times, it's just a friend thing for a girl...Girls are naturally more "chatty" creatures so they can do a nice conversation with just about anyone...

A guy kisses a girl, said he will call and never did. Girl waiting for that call and getting so upset that he didn't call and keep asking the dumbest question on earth "Why he never call?" The reason is simple, he is not willing to commit and he is just doing the disappearing act so forget about him..

My examples are rather extreme but I am amazed that what we deem so common-sense is actually cognitive wire differently in the opposite gender's brain. =P I found this rather amusing posting from the internet and would like to share it here.... Happy reading.. from a guy's point of view... (with slight editions to keep it family-friendly)

Guidelines for Platonic Friendship
Some sensible rules and regulations to avoid any confusion in a male-female friendship.

by moreanonymous, posted on Nov. 09 at 09:48am

Though I feel it’s impossible to forge a platonic friendship with a woman, I’m willing to give it a shot. Women make up more than half of the population and they turn up everywhere. As my wife tells me, I’m not good with women. A big part of that is my inability to correctly read their actions. I can’t tell when a woman wants to be my friend or when they want to do crazy s** stuff to me.

As a single man this led me into a lot of awkward situations where I either unknowingly stomped on the feelings of a girl who liked me or I tried to plant a kiss on one who just wanted to pal around. Toward the end of my single life I decided to take charge of my emotions and set down some guidelines for my lady friends. I know it seems unfair to impose these rules on the women when I had the problem, but to be honest I’d forget any rules for myself the minute cleavage enters the room. It would be up to the woman to help avoid confusion and maintain the innocence of the relationship. Now that I’m married I get by with the mantra: “I love my wife and this lady isn’t interested.” I’m never at risk of betraying my marriage, but this statement needs to be repeated every time a hot young girl does anything remotely flirty toward me. It calms the tornado of thoughts and emotions that women stir up in me. The truth is I’m still driven by my animal instincts despite living in a civilized world and my wedding vows are just barely able to hold me back.

Although I’ve found my own salvation, there are many young men out there who are bumbling their way through our world of commingled sexes. They are at risk of embarrassing themselves and possibly offending others. The following guidelines helped me and perhaps they could help someone else. They are intended for women who have stated that they just want to be friends and should not be handed out to strangers on the street. The woman must be aware of the friendship before laying ground rules. Following these rules, I think men and women can flaunt the call of nature and hang out with each other as if they were exclusively gay. If you aren’t sure that your situation warrants these guidelines then determine if three factors apply: You’re smitten with her, she thinks you are a nice guy, but she refuses to have s** with you.

1. No hugging for greetings or salutations. Hugging is only allowed for personal tragedies or blessed events when the emotional significance of the situation blocks out the knowledge that your boobies are pressing against me. We have hands; lets shake them.

2. No sleepovers. I think of all women who sleep in bed with me as potential s** partners. I spend all my free time trying to coax women in, so if you get in there, I can’t help but think you want some. If you or I need a place to crash sometime, then we should employ a couch.

3. No seat sharing. When girls sit on the arm of my chair or in my lap or next to me in a one-person seat, it makes me think that she wants some s**ing. A possible exception is fitting an extra person in a car that is filled to capacity. I can’t let my passion hurt the quest to maximize a designated driver.

4. No flirting. So if you laugh at a joke of mine, it better be a funny joke.

5. No judgment making on any girl that I see. Good or bad, it’s the guy friends' job to belittle and pick apart girlfriends, if a woman does this, it means she wants the guy for herself. So you think she is trashy and dumb? Well, you could have dated me but you just wanted to be friends.

6. No judgment making on how I treat any girl I might date, be it for six months, or six hours. You have thrown your log onto the fire of chauvinism in my heart, so you are partially to blame if an innocent girl gets burned.

7. No sparing of my feelings. It’s emasculating. Don't worry, you already broke my heart, go ahead and heap more crap on me. I’ll turn all embarrassment and pain into bitterness and anger, and then occasionally let it all out in some meat headed act.

8. No setting me up on pity dates. If you truly know of a woman who would be very happy with me and I with her, then we will talk.

9. No being attracted to me. Impossible, I know, but you seem to have found a way, so stick with that. I’m going to be as attractive as possible in pursuit of other women. In fact, don’t even tell me I look good as that will torment me for days.

10. No confiding in me about boys. I am not your girl friend; I am your reluctant man friend who officially hates all men that you date now or in the future. Asking for hypothetical guy advice is okay; just don’t slam me with details about particular guys you are sleeping with. If this rule seems contrary to rule 7, just remember that I’m a beautifully complex being.

11. No asking for man favors such as furniture moving, yard work, or car trouble help. I don't like to waste displays of extreme masculinity on women who have decided not to sleep with me. In a pinch you can bribe me to do man chores with beer. Please hand me the case as a gift versus doling them out one at a time from your fridge. That keeps it strictly business.

12. Try to avoid incidental contact. I can't outlaw this since there are times when the brush of a leg or a sleeve is purely accidental, but try to be careful. You can take steps to not put your arm in mine while walking or lay against me on a couch or other things like that. Those things would lead me to think you want me to s** you.

13. No asking for massages or neck rubs, that’s a lot of foreplay to waste on someone who doesn't want the main event. Besides, shouldn’t your boyfriend give you massages? Why aren’t we dating again?

14. No dating any guy who treats you bad or neglects you in any way, that’s just a slap in my face. I adore you.

15. No judgments on any of my behavior. It would lead me to think you care a little too much about my well being. So I don't want to hear any, "Stop smoking", or "Don't drink so much," or "Don't use women." Of course if I am truly being an a**hole in some situation, feel free to clue me in, that’s what friends do.

16. You have to let me know immediately if you want to be more than friends. I’m only doing this to respect your wishes. If you ever want more, rest assured that I do too.

The Little Tyke

Yesterday was rushing to meet Mummy and Little Junior Teddy to go pick up Mummy Junior Teddy from the airport... Little Ted was a bundle of joy as usual. He was thrilled when he saw me inside the train and calling my name so sweetly.. *heart melts*

Of course he was even more joyful when he saw his mummy. *wink* That little tyke has been picking up more vocabulary lately and he was excited to use his limited vocabulary to tell his mummy about grandmother and auntie Twin 1 bringing him to the airport, waiting for mummy, etc. etc....

Little Junior Ted : Little Junior Ted goes airport waits Mummy.

Mummy Junior Ted : Wow! Little Junior Ted is such a good boy. What about grandmother?

Little Junior Ted : Popo goes airport waits Mummy.

Mummy Junior Ted : Aw..aw...then Auntie leh?

Little Junior Ted : Auntie Twin 1 ... [Pause]

Me (to Little Junior Ted) : Auntie also goes airport and waits for mummy hor.

Little Junior Ted : Auntie, mum mum....

All of us burst out laughing. Little Junior Ted seeing us laugh, laughes too. Kekekeke! It's because Moi was rushing to meet the little tyke and mummy and didn't have time to grab dinner so was gobbling down french fries and nuggets while waiting for Sissy's flight. Hahahahaha!! Tsk! Tsk! What a little rascal!! Muack!!!!!!

A versus S

Mr. A is back in town and he gave me this....

Mr. S who came with him, bought me this...

And then we all had a nice dinner at the Metropole Herbal Restaurant with a bottle of shaoxing wine (chinese rice wine), plus...

Egg White with Scallop, Polygonatum and Ladybell Root

Buddha jumps over the wall

Can you see the Cordyceps, Sea cucumber, abalone, shark fins in it? ... and in case you think we had enough in a soup, we had a whole plate of sea cucumber and abalone again...

Sea cucumber with abalone and broccoli

Steamed Soon Hock fish (Marble Goby)

Fried eggplant with pine nuts

Dessert - Candied yam and sweet potato

This is a well-known dessert from China East North and it's very interesting. It's already great fun just watching the preparation. The pieces of yam and sweet potate is coated with a coat of brown candy and fried immediately, then served. As the candy will turn sticky very quickly, one need to quickly pick the pieces and dip them into the bowl of cold water with ice cube to freeze it so that it will hard and cold on the outside and soft and warm on the inside... Uuumm.... yummy!!

After dinner, we had a little stroll and we came across the turkish ice cream stall... it's really cute... but Moi is already too full or else I would really love to have another round of dessert. kekekeke! *wink*
