Welcome to Paste de Waraku!! Howdy!! The rows and rows of spaghetti, pizza, ice-cream, doria etc. sure make Pasta de Waraku seems super appetizing. Moi and twinny and her dearie waited for about half an hour plus before we could get seats... and it was around 8:30pm. So our dinner was already 9 plus... were really hungry by then....so what did we had?
- pork bacon & yolk with wafu creamy sauce -
- Prawn and Scallop pancake -
Can you spot the difference between the "real" food and the "fake" one? =P The first item, Carbonara Waraku Style is the recommended dish but maybe both Moi and twinny's anticipation for Pasta de Waraku was too high, the food was surprisingly just so-so for our preferences. The spaghetti was not too bad, quite well-cooked but the sauce tasted rather bland. I added up pouring bonito sauce to enhance the taste for this dish and the doria. The other spaghetti with wafu sauce which looked bland but contrary had a better taste that the Carbonara. Doria tasted very bland too...=(
Overall, the food wasn't that bad but it wasn't a place that I would wait for a good half an hour squeeze into the little restaurant for spaghetti again... Well for the dessert, we had..
YES!! I am such an alcoholic gal... =P The other 2 desserts tasted rather very much similar. Maybe because the restaurant was very crowded today so the ice-cream for the 2 desserts were already melted upon serving and so the taste for both were less pleasant...
Well, in case you are wondering...yes! Paste de Waraku is related to Waraku... I do feel that the Japanese food at Waraku was not too bad but the Japanese style pasta at Pasta de Waraku is below expectations. But like I always say, food tasting can be subjective so do give it a try but beware of the wait... they dun take reservations after 7pm.
