Went BIG SPLASH during one HOT Afternoon, coincidentally, the same afternoon that Radio 91.3FM roadshow was onz... And SuSe was really all gee to see Rod Monteiro and The Married Men. YUP!! He is their FAN, so dun you dare switch his radio channels when he is tuned in The Married Men.... =P Alas, SuSe was so shy that he was busy trying to "escape" from the roadshow "tugging" and thus we ended up in Mark Lee's OldTown White Coffee. Well, this place seems like a fusion between the typical kaya bread kopitam and Hongkong Cafe.
Food was nothing too memorable but still platable. Service was blended and staff were clearly not well-trained. Moi felt that it was rather disorganised as the dedicated queue line was unclear (just beside the payment queue), so some customers were "jumping" queue unknowingly by walking straight in and sat on available tables. The ordering pattern was also a little confusing as servers did not provide menus promptly. In fact, we just ticked off the paper menu found at the table and passed it to a waitress. We only knew menus were available much later when we saw her providing menus to others. Well, the dinning experience will be like a air-con foodcourt one where you come fill in your tummies with reasonable food at reasonable price and just leave.
Moi's Nissin noodle was very maggie. SuSe quite liked his Nasi Rendan. Not much complaints as he whipped up the whole plate. * SLURP!! * The names of the drinks were rather unique but taste was just ordinary. NaYang Memorably was coffee and Xi Mut Milk Tea was tea. Hahahhaa! Obvious? Anywhere we were trying hard to figure what is Xi Mut and whether it was a kind of NUT or plant. Well Xi Mut in cantonese means stocking or pantyhose. It was called such because the tea was made by straining through the cloth bag over many many times and causing the cloth bag to turn brown yellowish like the stocking. It was supposed to be very smooth tasting. I enjoyed my Xi Mut milk tea. ^_-)

Well, one good thing is that at present, there is only service charge and no GST at OldTown White Coffee. I wont specifically come but if I happen to be around, I wont mind dinning here.
