Ya...I managed to catch Spiderman 3 tonight just before it's going to taken off...I heard many people talking about it and I was trying to find chance to watch it... I did enjoy Spidey 1 and 2 so I think Spidey 3 is really good too. Well, it's rare for action-pack movie to be fill with such heavy theme and I really like the message in this movie. It's about choices and forgiveness. It’s choice, not chance, that determines who we become. All of us always have a choice to be a bad or a good person, to do the wrong thing or the right thing. Whatever the choice we made, at the end it always ourselves that will need to bear and suffer the consequences.
In the movie,
- Harry Osborn at his end, made his last choice to be a good person and a good friend.
- Harry Osborn's butler choose to tell the truth about Harry's father's death.
- Flint Marko, the Sandman, at the end, regret his choice not to follow spiderman's uncle's advice to drop the gun and go home.
- Peter Parker finally choose to forgive Flint for killing his uncle and also to discard the seductive power of the black spidey suite that made him vengeful and egoistic for the compassionate and friendly neighbourhood hero he has always been.
- MJ choose to forgive Parker for hurting her and to be there for him.
- Eddie Brock, the Venom, choose to succumb to the dark powers.
- Aunt May who despite having lose her beloved husband, choose not to take laws into her own hands.
It's also about forgiving others and forgiving ourselves... it's never easy to forgive ourselves and also to others... And when we bear such grudges within us, it just made us all very very ugly creatures.
An interesting character that appears in Spiderman 3 is Gwen Stacy. Gwen is a classmate and lab partner of Peter, who (as Spider-Man) rescues her early in the film. She kisses an upside-down Spider-Man the same way MJ kissed Spider-Man in the rain in the first film, which causes MJ to become angry and hurt. It reminds me about the difference between how a man's view and a woman's view when during the dinner where Peter was going to propose to MJ .... and she was questioning him about his relationship with Gwen. And Peter was emphasizing that they were only classmates and friend... And MJ went, but why he never mentioned about her before and why did he give her their kiss... Guys, if you find the lines familiar, ya...we gals all think like this..ok.
