Equation to Happiness

Jonathan Haidt gave the happiness hypothesis as

H = S + C + V

H = Happiness
S = Set range - (genetics: about 50%)
C = Circumstances (8-15%)
V = Voluntary Control - (past, present, future) can be up to 42%

Chartered occupational psychologist Carol Rothwell and life coach Pete Cohen came up with the formulae as

HF = P + (5 x E) + (3 x H)

HF = Happiness formulae
P = Personal characteristics such as outlook on life, resilience and adaptability.
E = Existence needs such as health, money and friends.
H = Higher order needs like a sense of humour, ambitions and self esteem.

Are you happy?
