In life, we have not ONE but many hats to wear. At any one time, we are playing either one or more than one roles. Roles are the relationships and the responsibilities that we have in life. For every relationship that we have, we also have a certain defined role for ourselves within that relationship.
Sometimes I felt like a clown or a magician juggling or exchanging many hats all the time. My role as daughter, as a grand-daughter, an employee, a student, a sister, a twin, a mother, a pet owner, a lover, a teacher, a nature advocate, a librarian, a girlfriend, an animal activist, a nationalist, a citizen, a young girl, a thinker, a listener, a friend, a team-mate,...etc etc. What am I? Sometimes one got so suffocated by all these roles-playing. You please one, you hurt another. At times, one role is play well at the expenses of another role. That's life.
In different roles, we are expected to behave and react in our stipulated responsibilities and duties. We can't be too out of the box. We are expected to conform to certain behaviour and certain thinking, we are expected to give certain answer. You are deemed "disruptive" if you dun play your role(s) well, if you dun follow what the rest want you to do.
All these hats switching, musical chair, sometimes made me so dizzy... made me weary, made me tired. I just want ONE Hat, the ME HAT!! MY HAT!!
