Addictive to Royce'

It's simply DELECTABLE, IRRESISTIBLE....

Moi just can't get enough of Royce'.

The chocs are made in Hokkaido, which also produces fantastic cheeses and butters. If you haven't discovered them, seek them out. The Bitter Nama is superb. Each box comes with a tiny plastic fork to spear the pieces of chocolate with. The chocolate has to be refrigerated but the store will pack it in dry ice that will last five hours. Each piece - sort of a rectangular truffle - is a taste of heaven: dark chocolate, buttery and smooth, spiked with cognac. They are so irresistible that myself and Mummy devoured the entire box of them at one go within seconds. SO Girls and Boys, please exercise extreme self-control. BE WARNED!! =D

Nama Chocolate (Ole)

Moi also went on to try their....

Nama Chocolate (white)

The milky taste is really strong...it tastes a little like milk powder compress into cubes. Moi prefers the original taste but this is also very good. But the surprise is the Potato Chip Chocolate. It was simply too SINFUL... hahahaha. High Calorie Crispy salted Potato Chip coated with cold, sweet chocolate... UUUuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm......SAVE ME!!!

TOP of the World

And so I finally made it onto the Expressway. It was a lot tougher to run on the expressway than the normal track that Moi has been training. Basically because I need to put in extra strength and efforts to go up the slope and down. So the usual 4km-ish run was a litte draining for me today. I had a little height phobia while standing on the narrow pathway and feeling the rumbling of the vehicles that sped past the Highway but it was definitely worthwhile. The view was breathtaking. Unfortunately I didn't bring Kanon so I would have to settle with some basic shots with my camera phone... But you see, I'll be definitely bring Kanon up there again. (^_-) Well, minus the polluted air, dust, carbon monoxide, etc, it was nice to be up on the expressway though a little scary too. I didn't dare to look down at all...

We passed by also the dead end that we encountered previously...

The Dead End

I was.... can you see? =(

As the RUN draws nearer, Moi will be in my discipline routine runs, yoga, stair climbing etc. I really hope this run will be a successful. IN fact the run has got me so hooked to running. Moi is also participating in the All-Women Run organised by Shape in September and Great Eastern in October. I can't wait... cant stop running. kekekeke! To prove my enthusiasm, I map out meticiously on the streetdirectory and photocopy the 6km route for the Singapore Bay Run... My fellow Kakis were so amused to see this...kekeke! Yup!! It's just Moi.

After the run, covered in sweat and dirt, I sauntered to twinny's place for dinner. Heheee! Envy leh!! Moi has been feeling rather tired out physically and mentally lately and so I was glad to make my way to twinny's abode for nice dinner and some refreshing moments... Thanks Twinny. I enjoyed so much. Hugz...

Ice Cold Beer

SuperModel cheoh me for drinks at the Peranakan place...and so i was told.

Me : Where is this place? Near where?

SuperModel : Beside centrepoint.

Me : Har!! Alley bar?

SuperModel : No! No! Peranakan Place.

Me : Okie nevermind. i will ask around. See you there.

Later Moi found out that the Peranakan Place is just behind Alley bar...hahaha. So the "same" place lah. And Moi had visited Ice Cold Beer before, but just the name never seems to register in my head. Anywhere, Moi was earlier and was lucky to get a table. 2 AngMohs asked to share table while I was waiting for SuperModel and her transport. Well, it was rather "peaceful", thought it was rather obvious that the 2 angmohs were "preyings" for pick-ups. So when minutes later, SuperModel came... Gee!! We got the unwanted attention... =( Anywhere, we managed to give them a "polite" cold shoulder to shake them off to other babes. But I did notice that a lot of hot babes are actually here to "fish" the expariates. So local guys..no chance for you all har.

And thanks SuperModel who introduced 2 nice dishes at Ice Cold Beer.

Fried Chicken marinated with Chinese wine + Ice Cold Beer Pizza

For a pub, I think their food served is really great. The Ice Cold Beer Pizza is actually marinated with Beer. It was simply delicious. We had beer and a jug of dry whisky and many good chats and sharings as usual. Moi also discovered an interesting qualifications uniquely at Ice cold Beer for qualified Patrons - the MBA "Master of Beer Addiction". hahahaha! Interesting name right? To obtain the MBA, one needs to consume all the types of Beer available at Ice Cold Beer within 1 month.

Love the ice cold beer pizza and marinated chicken, will definitely come back again for more...=P

SECRET is OUT!!

Dad's and Mom's birthdays are 5 days apart and so we carefully planned a day filled with pleasant surprises for them...It was quite difficult to keep the secret celebration in wraps, plus it requires the perfect coordination between us, the FOUR musketeers. First it was a nice bouquet from us to DAD. Nope nope!! It's not a typo. We gave the shocking pink hydrangeas with white roses and ammi maju to Dad so that he could present it to Mom. Kekeke! Kill 2 birds with 1 stone. *Wink*

Guys... these are what will melt your ladies' hearts..

The second pleasant surprise was a special home-made carrot cake from the Mad Baker. It's simply delicious though the price is rather steep. But for fresh and good ingredients with no preservatives, it is really worthwhile. The carrot cake contains cheese, walnuts and rasins. The MadBaker makes very unique and nice cakes but you will need to really book the cakes in advance as it's limited production.

From the MAD BAKER

But the biggest surprise was a special dinner date for Dad and Mom...so it was full of excuses and full of crap that all four of us got to tell mom that we couldn't make it for dinner today. So we could arrange for them to go for the surprise Thai Dinner at Beads Thai on the second level of Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel. Well...well...got Dad and Mom beaming with glee with such a surprise. And so the BRIGHT LIGHT-BULBS withdrew themselves to a quiet corner at HongKong Central at Parkway parade Shopping centre basement 1 for dinner...

In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) Iced Milk Tea + Ice Coke boiled with ginger + Hot Almond milk tea (2) Hongkong Wanton Noodle (3) Seafood Crispy Noodle (4) Fried Tofu with Pork Floss (5) Spicy Korea Noodle (6) Fried Hongkong Nissin Noodle

So the SECRET is out... Heehee! And I am glad that Dad and Mom enjoyed. They really deserve it. When we were kids, they are so occupied taking care of us to enjoy time together. When we grow up, the grandchildren start coming and then they are busy baby-sitting and taking care of them to enjoy time together. Life is short.. it will be sad if until old when their bones are cracking and their bodies are weak, do only they have time for one another. I really feel they should spent more quality time, talk more, enjoy themselves, go holiday, etc. Maybe it's an Asian thing that our parents generation do not protray much expression of love and feeling for their spouses and always putting children and grandchildren in forth before their own needs. So for this ONE day, let me be selfish in lieu of Dad and Mom, please take a BREAK and enjoy.

Muack!! Love you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Hugz.

Nameless

Well, Moi loves naming things but it seems that some people just dun seem to like name anything even the name of their shop. Went to this yakitori shop, 3rd level of Orchard Plaza with no signboard. It was extremely small with only counter seats and was fully booked when I went down for dinner.

In clockwise starting Top left corner : (1) Plate (2) Sauce (3) Marinated Potato balls (4) Chicken gizzards (5) Chicken skin (6) Pork fat (7) Egg with Spinach (8) Quail eggs (9) Ochazuke (10) Cold Noodles (11) Ginko (12) Foie gras (13) Chicken meat (14) Chicken balls (15) Chicken liver

There were only 2 persons working at the shop. The boss who is also the chef, the cashier, purchaser, entertainer all thrown in... The other person is a help who does the cleaning and also serving. The secret to the food being so nice tasty is that the chef uses minimal seasoning only salt and lemon to enhance the taste instead of the usual strong dark sauce that the usual Yakitori shop will have. Though the guests need to wait a little longer than usual due to short-hand-ness. No one was complaining..simply because everyone knows that the secret behind the taste lies in the attentive-ness of the chef in grilling each stick carefully... He was really focus with the grilling with minimal chatting even to the customers. I would say he is not only a chef but also a yakitori craftsman. A craftsman that takes great pride in each stick he grilled. It's simply too delicious. The meat are all nicely grilled and so fresh and juicy that we can taste the real sweetness of the meat. Uuuuummmmmmmmmmm!!! Heavenly!!

So focus...

Name IT

Woodstock was sitting on my bed and Huggie was there too and so Huggie introduced himself and wanted to make friends with Woodstock. Woodstock couldn't stop laughing and giggling away despite Huggie and Moi's serious tone and expression. Well, Huggie is a metro teddy bear with a little check green-coloured bow tie. He is extremely naive, happy-go-lucky, simple-minded and easily contented little teddy bear that always believes that is the cutest teddy bear in this world.

Hmm...you might find me a little absurd...I think it runs in the BLOOD. Twinny got the same exact behaviour and traits. We give names to our toys, possessions even car. We give them character and animated them from time to time. We create a bond and relationship when we affix a name, a characteristics to our possessions.

So what should be the name of my new pencil...??? SHARP? Jazz?? Slender?? ^_-)
