Picotin

Well, well, we only managed to arrive this place with a SOS call and a few miss turns. But thanks SuperModel for the recommendation. The food was super duper luper nicey. Moi was quite surprise that despite being such a small place, Picotin could accommodate so many people and even horses. In fact, Moi like the whole laid-back countryside atmosphere and service was really great. All the waiter and waitress knew all the items very well and could remember to get back to you proper. So Five * * * * * for Picotin. \(^_^)/

Smoked Duck $16.00

The appetizer, smoked duck does seem a little pricey since portion was rather small, only a few slices of duck meat. The duck meat was sliced very thinly and cupped with the sauce tasted just right.

Vongole Linguine $20.00

The linguine tasted just al denta and not overpowered by the sauce so one can taste the freshness of the clams. Moi is not much of a clam person but Supermodel is a clam-lover so this will be the girl's favourite. We had pan fried cod with buttered spinach, lyonnaise potatoes, white wine, shallots and mushroom sauce as our main. Again, Moi is not a fish's fan but this was really good. I really like this!!! The fish was fresh and sweet and the sauce wasn't overpowering so you can taste everything really nicely.

Panfried Cod $30.00

The disappointment came with our order for our desserts. I had never tasted something so so sweet that I felt like eating hard sweetened candy rock. I hope it was just a wrong choice on my part. The orange millefeuille was still palatable as the crispy crust still kind of balance off the sweet orange cream a little BUT not the iced vacherin. That will definitely be my first and last try. Shouldn't have trusted my gut feeling that vacherin is cheese and so should not be too sweet.

Iced Vacherin $11.00

Blood orange Millefeuille $10.00
